Barbra Bass, of Wills Point, Texas, shown with grandson Taylor Townsend (The Crocheted Santa), is a wife, mother of two, and grandmother of five. Originally intending to give The Crocheted Santa to her mother as a gift, Barbra decided to also share the Christmas story with you. She hopes it ignites the warmth of Christmas in families everywhere.
What do you get when you combine a young man, a Santa suit, and crochet work? As one couple teaches the giving spirit of Christmas to their grandson, The Crocheted Santa teaches sharing with the whole town. By weaving together family and tradition, new author Barbra Bass brings the true meaning of Christmas giving alive.

I really liked the book that you wrote. It was really, really cool! I liked the part at the very end when Taylor went to the nursing home. I think in my opinion that it was the coolest book I ever read in my whole entire life.
This book was great.
I enjoyed it very much. I liked how he would go around every year and deliver cookies and gifts to all the neighbors. I especially liked when he went to the nursing home and gave all the teddy bears to everybody. This book was great.
I had a great time at the Ben Wheeler Book Fair where I met a lot of great people, including Terra who purchased a copy of “The Crocheted Santa”. Plus, I donated a couple copies of my book to the Ben Whee;er Children’s Library.

I had a great time with the kids at Hubble Elementary School in Marshfield, Missouri. My family name is Hubble, so I hold this school close to my heart. The kids loved seeing the crocheted Santa suit and seemed to really be entertained by my reading of “The Crocheted Santa”.
One added bonus was seeing my brother’s grandson, Eli! Visiting this school was truly a special experience.
I was excited to share “The Crocheted Santa” with the students and staff at Heller Elementary School in Neodesha, Kansas. The kids really enjoyed the reading and seeing the actual crocheted Santa suit!

I was invited to a book signing at the Grand Opening of the Dundee Public Library in Dundee, Florida. I invited my mother, who crocheted the Santa Suit, to the event. We had a great time with all the people who attended the event. One little boy was surprised when he realized mom was the character in the book. He excitedly said, “I’ve never met a live character before.”
